1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Emdash, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you do not have permission to use our software.

2. Description of Service

Emdash is an open source desktop application that helps developers orchestrate AI coding agents. The software provides:

• A unified interface for running multiple AI coding agents (such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and others)
• Git worktree isolation so each agent operates in its own branch
• Built-in diff viewing and file editing
• Integration with issue trackers (Linear, Jira, GitHub Issues)
• MCP (Model Context Protocol) server support

Emdash runs on your local machine. Your code is not transmitted to Emdash servers. However, when you use AI coding agents through Emdash, your code is sent to those third-party AI services according to their respective privacy policies.

3. Open Source License

Emdash is open source software. The source code is available at github.com/generalaction/emdash. Your use of the software is subject to the license terms specified in the repository.

4. Third-Party Services

Emdash integrates with third-party AI coding agents and services. Each of these services has its own terms of service and privacy policy. When you use Emdash to interact with these services, you are also bound by their respective terms:

• AI coding agents (Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, etc.) require their own API keys or authentication
• Issue tracker integrations (Linear, Jira, GitHub) require separate authorization

We are not responsible for the availability, functionality, or terms of these third-party services.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the software for any illegal purpose
• Redistribute modified versions of the software under the Emdash name without permission
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the software

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The software is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, General Action Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the software. This includes any damages resulting from code generated by AI agents through the software.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Emdash after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
